Did you use Quick Tax or other type of software? I should've just bought that damn thing for 20 bucks. Instead, I did it pen and paper style. Never again, especially if I figure for a sizable refund.

I used www.eztaxreturn.com
It was really easy to use and costs something like twenty five dollars, or thereabouts. But I don't file state tax so I don't know how it would be where you live.
(Texas has no state income tax at all. Isn't that just way cool?)
The tax place just asks you a bunch of questions and then figures out your taxes for you and then asks you how you want to get your refund. Paper check, electronic deposit, or you can go through their bank and it will give you a loan on your check so you could get the money in a couple of days if you wanted. I didn't do it that way, because I bet they charge an arm and a leg and I am all about cheap.

I heard H&R Block charges something to the tune of at least $150 or something. Crikey.

My mom's accountant friend is doing mine for $50. I know it's cheaper to do it myself but I'm bad at math. I had a C in accounting too and I'm just scared I would mess it up. >=P

So glad that your checkboxes are being marked down one by one. What's that, like the 2nd or 3rd in a few weeks' time?

Ice Princess: What I did was to take the average amount that I am able to pay extra per payday and divide it into the amount owed and then I made that many boxes. So now I get to mark off one box every payday.
The reason I did it this way is so that I can post it on the fridge so that the kids can see the progress. That way when they look at it and see the boxes it justifies me saying no every time they want to call out for pizza or something.

Cha-Ching!

I wish I had my W2's and 1099's from all the consulting gigs last year. I'd like to get mine out of the way too.

I started my taxes but am still waiting on a w-2. I am in no hurry to get them done becaue I change my witholdings to get more in my paycheck. My refund will be very minimal.
