Helium dot com
Does anyone know anything about Helium.com?
My friend at the Thai Food Store was asking about it. He says he thinks he would be a good writer for Helium. But how does it work? Can you actually make any money with it?

I have used helium and did not have success with it. You submit an article and it has to get rated by people who read the articles (or just click randomly). You get a few cents per article depending on how people rate your article. Plus the rating changes daily because people are always voting so you cannot be too sure how much you will earn.
I had an article reach #1 and it was featured on the front page of helium but it only earned 21 cents at that position. Then I had one that was ranked #5 and it made 33 cents. That did not make sense to me.
I have had it for about 3 months and made about $2.00 with it and payout is $25.00 so you have to wait a a long time.
The way to make money with this I think is to submit something EVERY day and to rate articles EVERY day. Helium rejects articles based on various criteria so unless you are an outstanding writer I do not think you will really get through.
Your friend can still try...there is nothing to lose...except the time spent.
